The Yahel Social Change Program is a 9-month service learning opportunity in Israel for post-graduates age 21-27. Participants make meaningful contributions to Israeli society, work with Ethiopian-Israeli or Arab-Israeli communities and gain experience alongside local grassroots change makers. Each participant works with Yahel staff to create a personalized weekly schedule of 4-5 different volunteer placements throughout various cities in Israel including Gedera, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Rishon, and more.
If you are between the ages of 18 - 26 and looking for direction and connecting with your Jewish roots, this is the opportunity for you. From teaching to agriculture to cooking and even bringing your own innovative ideas, we look forward to meeting you. No matter which country you are from, come live in Israel for nearly a year and find yourself. Learn about Jewish history, Arabs, Palestinians, Ethiopians, and the wonderful relationships we've built over the years. There is something for everyone in Israel and so much to learn. There is so much to explore and do in our country.
Religious or secular, we welcome you to join us in Israel for the experience of a lifetime. Grow professionally by working in a nonprofit setting, teaching in the local schools, working with at-risk youth, working in community gardens and cultivating deep relationships with community members.
